What is Dermapen & how does Skin Needling work?
Dermapen 4β’ utilises multiple needles to vertically pierce the skin with patent-pending AOVNβ’ (Advanced Oscillating Vertical Needle) technology. Dermapen 4β’ glides over the skin, creating millions of fine channels. These channels can carry up to 80% more topical nutrients, encouraging trans-dermal delivery of these nutrients deeper into the skin to feed cells in the dermis and basal layer of the epidermis.
Dermapen 4β’ systematically creates micro-punctures in the skin and the body naturally responds by launching processes to repair the physical damage. The result is an increased production of normal woven collagen, similar to that achieved by fractional laser treatments, but without the side effects and downtime. Practitioners find Dermapenβ’ Treatments to be more effective & more beneficial than most microdermabrasion & chemical peels.
When compared to traditional dermal rollers, Dermapen 4β’ causes less epidermal (skin) damage, reducing levels of pain and discomfort. As a result Dermapen 4β’ is a safer, more comfortable, and more effective micro-needling treatment (see image below). Dermapen 4β’βs single use cartridges eliminate risk of cross-contamination, whilst the adjustable needle depth allows for a treatment that is fully tailored to your individual needs. Dermapen 4β’ is so advanced, it is even suitable and safe to use in delicate and hard to reach areas such as around the eyes, eyelids, earlobes, neck, lips and on the nose.
The Dermapen 4 has a total of 16 needles that produce up to 1920 holes per second- that which is 47.69% more holes than its predecessor, Dermapen 3 generates. This means shorter microneedling sessions for patients, making it a good skin rejuvenation procedure for those with busy and hectic schedules.
Elevate your skin needling to the next level with Exosome therapy
Exomide is a revolutionary skin and scalp care product that leverages exosome therapy, a cutting-edge technique that originated in South Korea. Exosome therapy uses nanosized vesicles called exosomes, which are secreted by stem cells and carry essential molecular information for cell-to-cell communication and regeneration. Exomide delivers stem cell-derived exosomes to target skin rejuvenation and hair restoration. Studies have shown exosome therapy can assist directly with increasing skin elasticity, increased collagen production, reducing wrinkles, pores, pigment, whilst improving the evenness and texture of the skin. Exosomes contain mRNAs and microRNAs (miRNAs) that allow for cell-to-cell communication. Although derived from stem cells, exosomes are not stem cells themselves, and cannot replicate or transform. Exosomes are simply communicators that activate the skinβs own healing responses.
Exomide contains (ingredients vary slightly between skin and hair ampoules):
- 17 types of Amino acids:
- 6 types of peptides:
- 8 types of hyaluronic acid (in the skin formulation only)
- Niacinamide and Glutathione (in the skin formulation only)
- Pine needle, cypress leaf, arborvitae leaf, and ginkgo leaf extracts and Ecklonia Cava Extract (in the scalp formulation only)
- Exomide for skin contains 5 billion exosomes
- Exomide for scalp contains 10 billion exosomes

How soon after filler/muscle relaxant injections can I have a Dermapenβ’ Treatment?
While there is no clinical evidence that Dermapenβ’ Treatments counteract with any particular injectables, it is important to let your clinician know if you have had an injectable treatment, or are planning on having one done in the near future. Your clinician will be able to advise you on when to schedule your treatment appropriately.
Is there any downtime after treatments?
Generally no, but you may experience facial redness for 12-48 hours after the treatment. Most people are able to return to normal daily activities immediately after the treatment. Application of a breathable camouflage will seal the skin and cover any redness for an immediate return to work.
Is the treatment painful?
For minimal needle depths, Dermapenβ’ Treatments are relatively painless. You can opt to have numbing cream applied prior to your treatment however for best results we advise not to. Most of our clients say it is definitely bareable.
How long should it take before I see results?
Typically, you will see results after the first treatment. Lasting and more significant results will become visible after 4 to 6 treatments (spaced 4-6 weeks apart). The condition of your skin will continue to improve over the next 6-12 months after a course of treatments, especially when combined with recommended post-treatment care.
How should I prepare my skin for a Dermapenβ’ Treatment?
Discontinue the use of any active ingredients such as vitamin A or retinols 4 days prior to your treatment and advise your therapist if you had any other professional treatments done recently. The correct aftercare will be recommended for optimal results.
